Food Q Mega Showcase Event October 2011

Thu, 13/10/2011 - 11:58am | by Martin

For those that came along to the Food Q Showcase event it was a good night enjoyed by all.  It was a really great opportunity to see and taste some great locally produced products.

It was unfortunate that Brisbane was struck by bad weather for the evening as this no doubt affected the numbers.  However as an inaugral event it was a great start.

Here's some snaps I took on the night.

Wed, 15/06/2011 - 12:04pm | by Martin

Your opinion matters! Calling all chefs and restaurant managers. A local food survey is being conducted by Boardroom Business on behalf of the Queensland Government Department of Education, Economic Development and Innovation to assist to understand buying and use of locally produced foods. Reasons why you as a local chef or restaurant manager should spend 5-10 minutes answering this survey:

• It is quick and anonymous - you can say what you really think.

Wed, 16/03/2011 - 3:13pm | by Martin

May is Australia's Biggest Morning Tea time and there's never been a better excuse to put the kettle on and take some time out with friends, family and workmates to help in the fight against cancer.

All you need to do is sign on to host an event during May and start planning! Visit
www.biggestmorningtea.com.au or phone 1300 65 65 85 to find out how.
Last year over one million Australians shared a cuppa for the cause, raising close to
$11 million - our best result yet!

Kim Walters Choices Program

Wed, 16/03/2011 - 12:00pm | by Martin

This is a great charity and one of my favourites as it supports women diagnosed with breast cancer.

The Choices program was started in 1998 as a legacy to Kim Walters to ensure her vision of a support network for women with breast cancer was achieved. The program provides support, counselling, information and therapies to both women and men with breast cancer and also their families free of charge. Unfortunately, the Choices program receives no ongoing government funding so relies solely on the generosity of the
community.
