Tourism Australia has launched its new marketing campaign "There's Nothing Like Australia". The "There's nothing like …." tag-line can apply to multiple places, people, experiences and emotions, which will enable cooperative branding and marketing with multiple destinations and tourism industry partners.

Now we're nearing the end of autumn and winter is approaching, most of our clients will be seeking comfort food - tagines, curries, lamb shanks and other wet dishes will be sought after. These are great profit makers as cheaper cuts of meat can be used. I've included a list of potatoes and how to cook them and also what's in season for May.

It’s Queensland’s apple and grape capital and the annual harvest is in full swing. Interestingly it didn’t all begin with food but with minerals.

Lyndey Milan and Ian Hemphill (Herbie) have just released their latest cook book. With winter coming on, there are some great menu ideas. In this book there is a lot of great information on spices, some fantastic recipes and loads of informative tips on wine and wine matching making it a great resource. Lyndey is known for her fun, fast and fabulous approach which is evident in the book www.lyndeymilan.com.

Audi Noosa Food and Wine Festival 2010 - 30 April, 1 May and 2 May 2010.
This is one of my favourite foodie events in Australia. Great to see such a premier food event in QLD and held at Noosa!
This year will be the 7th Festival and I have been to every one thus far!
My good friends, Jim Berardo and Greg O'Brien and Committee put on a truly
awesome event.
Events include some of the following:
Indulge in food tastings while savouring the latest releases from leading
Australian winemakers.

As the days get shorter and the temperature starts to drop, the season is changing. Patrons will be looking for warming and comforting food. With autumn’s bounty there is plenty to choose from in the way of fresh produce. Look out for what’s in season in April.

A multitude of foodies gathered at the Brisbane Convention Centre for the Fine Food Queensland show. Many hospitality suppliers were there displaying anything that one would need in the hospitality business. Coffee companies showing their wares were in abundance with Bun Coffee, Byron Bay Coffee Company, Merlo and Octane Coffee Co being the standouts.

This is a great charity and one of my favourites as it supports women diagnosed with breast cancer.
The Choices program was started in 1998 as a legacy to Kim Walters to ensure her vision of a support network for women with breast cancer was achieved. The program provides support, counselling, information and therapies to both women and men with breast cancer and also their families free of charge. Unfortunately, the Choices program receives no ongoing government funding so relies solely on the generosity of the
community.

The new Movida in Bourke Street, Melbourne is worth checking out (as is the original Movida and Movida next door). This new one is on a rooftop and a great space, have a casual drink outside in the bar or venture into the restaurant for fantastic Spanish tastes. Staff are very knowledgeable on both food and wine.
