Somerset Valleys Wine Region

About the region

Less than two hours from Brisbane, this region has a growing number of cellar doors, vineyards, wineries and olive groves, particularly around Kilcoy and Dayboro. This region is located near the Sunshine Coast or on the way to the South Burnett. This region has very rich volcanic soils ideal for vine production.

Things to do and see

As well as visiting the wineries and cellar doors in the region, visit Lake Somerset or take a walk about Mount Mee State Forest. Why not check out the popular Woodford Folk Festival held in January or the Wood, Wine and Art Festival held in Kilcoy in September.

How to get there

Follow the D’Aguilar Highway from Brisbane to Kilcoy which is the gateway to the Somerset Valleys wine region. To get to Dayboro, 45 minutes from Brisbane, travel through Samford and Mt Samson.
